Thick boughs, huge branch, giant limbs, 

Terebinth tree, winding branched tree, a thorny barked tree


He was stuck in the thick boughs of a great terebinth tree.

The man was lodged on a huge branch of a winding tree. 

A man was webbed in giant limbs of a thorny tree
